A 9 éves Jhalki és 7 éves öccse élete egy szempillantás alatt megváltozik: a kistestvér váratlanul eltűnik, ezért nővére a keresésére indul. A kislányt egy fáradhatatlan verébről szóló mese és saját megingathatatlan elhatározása inspirálja küldetése során. Jhalki mit sem sejt a rendszerben mélyen gyökerező korrupcióról és összefonódásokról, és öntudatlanul veszi fel a harcot a szörnyűségekkel felemelő és inspiráló tisztasága segítségével.
