SONALI is a graceful kathak Dancer of Lucknow Gharana. Recently she has joined Amrita-Sher-Gil Cultural Centre , the Embassy of India, in Budapest as a Kathak Dance teacher -cum - performer. She started learning Kathak at the age of 8 under Shri Ashim Kumar Sarkar. Later she was trained by Guru Shri SANTOSH Kumar Chatterjee in Kolkata.

She got the privilege of learning Kathak from the great Maestro Padmavibhusan Pandit Birju Maharajji, the living legend. Sonali completed her Masters in Kathak from Rabindra Bharty University (Kolkata). She is a graded artist of Doordarshan. Awarded National Scholarship from Ministry of Cultural and Tourism , Govt of India. Having topped in Bhaskar Final Exam from Pracheen kaka kenera Chandigarh, she has been awarded by Guru M.L.Koser Award in 2012. She is an empanelled artist in ICCR and Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. She received "Tarana Samman" Award in Delhi.

She has performed in innumerable festivals in India and Abroad.
