Program:

Talk by Ms Sonali Roy, Kathak teacher cum performer of ASCC :

- History of Kathak

- Importance of the Guru in Indian Cultural and 'Guru - Shishya Parampara'

- Small biography of Pandit Birju Maharaj Ji, his concept and contribution to Kathak Dance

- Influence of pure Kathak dance on Bollywood and the appearance of Kathak choreographies in Bollywood movies.

- During the programme small performances by Ms Sonaly Roy & students.
