Egy izgalmas irodalmi programra invitáljuk a könyvek rajongóit!

Európai körútján Amrita Chowdhury, egy lebilincselő bűnügyi thriller szerzője látogat el a Hopp Múzeumba. Az izgalmas, cselekmény nem is akármilyen műtárgy: egy Amrita Sher Gil festmény körül bonyolódik. Az irodalmi programnak a Hopp Múzeum kertje ad méltó helyszínt.

A szerző bemutatja a könyvét, részletek is elhangzanak a műből – a beszélgetőtárs Dr. Aklan Anna, a Hopp Múzeum India/Dél-ázsiai Gyűjteményének kurátora.

A szerző férje, Dr. Sumit D Chowdhury előadásában digitális szaxofonon felcsendülő, Rabindranath Tagore által komponált dallamok kísérik az beszélgetést.

A program elején és végén két kathak táncdarabot csodálhatunk meg Jigna Dixit előadásában (Indiai Nagykövetség): az első egy bhadzsan, Mírá báí Draupadíról szóló költeménye, a másik pedig egy Tarana.

On her European tour, we are delighted to welcome author Amrita Chowdhury at Hopp Museum for a literary event. The author will present her book "Faking It" – an art crime thriller – where the story revolves around Amrita Sher Gil's paintings and the story mirrors some elements of her life. The book has been mentioned in various fora, articles, videos, and press releases about Amrita Shergill, including her various centenary events. Hopp Museum has an important collection of Amrita Sher Gil’s paintings, therefore serves as an ideal venue for the programme.

The author will be in discussion with Dr. Anna Aklan, curator of the India/South Asia Collection at Hopp Museum.

Trained in both Indian Classical and Tagore school of music, Dr. Sumit D Chowdhury is an amateur instrumentalist with keen interest in picking up and learning new instruments. His latest interest is in the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument). He will perform a few western influenced songs of Rabindranath Tagore on this Digital Saxophone. Sumit has worked across multiple Global and Indian multinational companies like Philips, KPMG, IBM, Reliance, Brookfield as a CXO. Currently he runs his own company, Hydreen, in the green-hydrogen ecosystem and Gaia, working alongside Amrita. He holds a B.Tech from IIT Kanpur, and MS and Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon University in the US.

Amrita Chowdhury is the author of bestselling books “Faking It”, an art crime thriller and “Breach”, a cybercrime thriller, and contributing author to “Chicken Soup for the IITian Soul”. She hosts an online talk show platform “Winning Minds”, in partnership with Women Inspiring Network, to bring out stories of women achievers in the literary, visual, communication, and performing arts. Amrita has worked as a business strategist and innovator across USA, Australia, and India. She has been the CEO of a brand strategy & design firm and Country Head South Asia for a multinational publishing house. She currently heads Gaia, a tech company providing digital transformation solutions for enterprises, government, and cities. She has a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, MS from UC Berkeley, and MBA from Carnegie Mellon Tepper Business School.

Ms Jigna Dixit (Embassy of India) will perform two Kathak dance items: the first is a bhajan, Mira Bai's poem about Draupadi, the second is called Tarana.
