A Londonban élő Jai Vardhan Singh (Saif Ali Khan) és Meera Pandit (Deepika Padukone) találkoznak, egymásba szeretnek, majd a lány bemutatja őt a családjának. Röviddel ezután úgy döntenek, hogy szakítanak, mert Meera Indiába utazik, hogy ott részt vegyen egy régi épület felújításán mint restaurátor, míg Jai Amerikába megy dolgozni.
Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor), a vendéglős próbálja meggyőzni Jai-t, hogy kérje meg Meera kezét, de közben ő beleszeret a kaukázusi Jo-ba (Florence Brudenell-Bruce), ezalatt Meera házassági ajánlatot kap a főnökétől, Vikram Joshi-tól (Rahul Khanna). Living in London, Jai Vardhan Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera Pandit (Deepika Padukone) meet, fall in love, and then she introduces him to her family. Shortly after, they decide to break up, as Meera travels to India to take part in the renovation of an old building as a restorer, while Jai goes to work in America.

Restaurateur Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) tries to convince Jai to propose to Meera, but he falls in love with Caucasian Jo (Florence Brudenell-Bruce), while Meera receives a marriage proposal from her boss, Vikram Joshi (Rahul Khanna). Jai visits Meera and a short time together is enough for them to realize that they still love each other.
