The 74th Republic Day of India was commemorated on 26th January 2023 at the Embassy of India Budapest.


A large group of Indians in Budapest and friends of India attended the event. 



The celebration started in the morning with the unfurling of the National Flag at the Embassy premises followed by the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by the reading out of the message of the President of India to the audience by the Charge d’Affaires, a,i, Mr. Ramji.



A colorful cultural programme was organised comprising the singing of partiotic songs and dance performances. Students and teachers of the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Center rendered a partiotic song accompanied by young children on the tabla.  A group of Indian ladies and Hungarian ladies rendered another song. A Kathak dance performance on the theme of Vande mataram or salutation to mother (India) was done by the Kathak teacher and her student.  A Rhythmic yoga presentation was given to a popular Indian song led by three yoga teachers.  A bharatanatyam dance performance was also done by students of Dora Bitner which was followed by an exquisite performance of dance fusion of Indian classical dances of Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam by the teachers of the Cultural Center.
